C Lazy U Ranch in Granby welcomed Ulises Salas as its new executive chef. In this role, Salas will spearhead the ranch’s culinary operations, guiding the culinary team in crafting fine dining menus, as well as supervising the preparation of regionally sourced dishes for guests.
“Hailing from Acapulco, Mexico, Salas brings a deep-rooted appreciation for fresh ingredients sourced from both land and sea, instilled in him from an early age,” C Lazy U stated in press release.
Salas will lead C Lazy U’s summer culinary programming, including fireside cookouts, breakfast cookouts with beautiful views of the Indian Peaks mountain range and working with the ranch’s sommelier to curate wine dinners.
With nearly two decades of culinary and hospitality experience garnered from prominent establishments across Colorado and California, Salas joins C Lazy U after honing his craft at the Forbes five-star and AAA five-diamond resort, The Broadmoor, where he managed a 140-seat dining room. He has also worked at the iconic Hotel Jerome in Aspen where he orchestrated banquets, off-site catering and fine dining services.
Most recently, Salas served as executive chef at Gravity Haus’ Slope Room in Vail.
“We are very excited to welcome Ulises to the C Lazy U team and continue to propel our award-winning culinary program,” stated Jeremy Belnap, the ranch’s general manager. “His addition marks an ongoing commitment to serving memorable meals alongside one-of-a-kind experiences here at the ranch and we’re looking forward to sharing his immense talent with our guests.”
Salas will collaborate with the C Lazy U restaurant team to ensure that exceptional service complements his finely crafted culinary creations.
“I love this place and look forward to making a positive impact on the ranch’s culinary program. My goal is to share my expertise, creativity and love for food with this community to contribute to C Lazy U’s enduring legacy,” Salas stated.
