As home to Rocky Mountain National Park, Grand County is a great place to celebrate National Park Week.
For 2025, the community can celebrate national parks with events lasting from Saturday, April 19 to Sunday, April 27. Rocky Mountain National Park will kick off the weekslong celebration with activities on both the east and west sides of the park.
The park will also celebrate National Volunteer Week from April 20-26 and Earth Day on April 22.
This year’s theme is National Park Playlist. Participants can share their favorite sounds and sights of Rocky at in-person events or on social media.
The first event will celebrate National Junior Ranger Day on April 19. Entrance to the park will be free on this day. The event at the Kawuneeche Visitor Center will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Kids can earn their Junior Ranger badge, learn about wildlife at the discovery table, and participate in “animal olympics” and other games. Join Juniper Library staff member Sue Luton for storytime and crafts from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. There will also be a celebration at the east side of the park.
