Eric Breon’s new vacation rental management company, Fairly, launched in December 2024 and is serving Fraser, Winter Park and Tabernash. Fairly takes a gig economy approach by recruiting local caretakers and advisers to work directly with homeowners.

Breon said his experiences with property management as a guest and homeowner left him “not impressed with the direction the industry has taken.”

“Companies have been squeezing housekeeper pay while living costs grew. Excessive fees are rampant. And increasingly, when you call a property management company, you end up having your call routed to someone who isn’t local,” Breon said in a news release.

Fairly provides homeowners with all the back-end tech for a fee that is 20% of the rent. Fairly keeps half while the other half is split evenly by the housekeeper and adviser, who is typically a real estate agent helping clients begin renting. The housekeeper also gets to keep the cleaning fee they directly negotiate with the homeowner.

The company’s news release states that it is recruiting housekeepers and real estate agents who specialize in vacation rentals.
