Official results for Granby Board of Trustees race released
Grand County’s election results have been officially certified and show a total of 2,730 votes cast for this year’s Granby’s Board of Trustees race. Three trustee seats and the mayoral seat were up for election this year.
Official results show Granby voters selected incumbent Joshua P. Hardy for mayor and Rebecca Quesada, Chris Michalowski and Seth Stern to serve as trustees.
Rebecca Quesada received the most votes with 642 votes, Seth Stern followed with 502 votes and Chris Michalowski came in third with 491 votes. Only four votes separated Michalowski from the fourth place candidate, James Easley.
Quesada and Michalowski are incumbents that were elected in 2020, and this will be Stern’s first term as a Granby trustee. Jarrell was appointed as trustee back in July 2024.
Quesada expressed a sense of gratitude in her statement: “I’m very grateful that the Granby voting base had confidence enough in me and allowed me the opportunity a second term. I look forward to continuing and finishing some of the hard work our current board has put in for the last 4 years and look forward to working alongside a cohesive group of people who have the town’s best interests at heart. We had some wonderful candidates running this year and the decision was not easy. I’m very excited to also have the opportunity with this reelection to have the chance to start working with others in the county on some efforts for betterment of mental health in Granby from our elderly community to the youth. As well as the goal of hopefully being able to start planting a seed with youth in government programs for our town! I’m excited, humbled, and grateful for the opportunity to serve. Thank you!”
Michalowski offered the following statement: “I want to thank the voters for their confidence in me and I’m looking forward to continuing the progress that the Town has made over the last four years.”
Stern thanked voters in his statement, but also urged more civic involvement: “The voters of Granby have spoken, now it’s time to get to work. I am grateful to all who have supported my campaign, thanks to my amazing partner Jo, my parents Ron & Cindy, Trustees Quesada and Silva, Mayor Hardy, the Greater NW Grand County Chamber of Commerce and all of those who cast their votes for me. I encourage you to not allow apathy to determine the next election. Through four campaign events, including the forum at the High School, we had fewer than 100 attendees in total. That’s only 5% of Granby voters and a good indicator of why things are going the direction they’re going. Should you want to discuss anything taking place within the Town of Granby, please don’t hesitate to stop by Troublesome Tomahawks/High Mountain Firearms during my normal business hours. I have an open door and I’m willing to discuss anything regarding Granby’s needs/wants or your concerns.”
