On March 7, skiers and snowboarders with bright orange helmets — some in costumes — carved down the slopes at Winter Park Resort.

These were participants of Jane-A-Thon, a fundraiser for Invest In Kids. The nonprofit works to improve the health and well-being of Colorado children and families.

This year, 341 participants raised $365,777 during the Jane-A-Thon event. Families, friends and corporate sponsors received prizes for the most money raised as well as prizes in the costume contest. This year, the format was changed to a one-day event, but the “the support we received remained as strong as ever,” according to Invest In Kids President and CEO Lisa Hill.

“A sincere thank you to our sponsors, donors, staff and the (Jane-a-Thon) committee for their invaluable contributions that made this event a success,” Hill wrote in an email.

Grand County benefits from two of the nonprofit’s programs. The first provides early learning and family education in child care centers and elementary schools. The second is available for mothers who are giving birth for the first time and are experiencing economic hardship. A registered nurse helps guide women through their journey of motherhood.

Fundraising winners:

  • Most money raised by an individual: Bill Munn from Nelnet
  • Most number of gifts by an individual: Kyra Sammis from Trustpilot
  • Most money raised by a team: Hyder Construction
