U.S. Highway 40 reopens between Kremmling and Steamboat Springs

U.S. Highway 40 is closed in both directions between Kremmling and Steamboat Springs.

Update, 3 p.m.: U.S. Highway 40 is now opened between Kremmling and Steamboat Springs. The road is snow-packed with ice and drifting winds.

According to Colorado Department of Transportation, U.S. Highway 40 is closed between Kemry Lane (3 miles east of Steamboat Springs) and Spruce Street in the Town Kremmling, from mile point 139 to mile point 184. The road closed at about 8 a.m. due to safety concerns.
