The Wells Fargo Ski Cup returns for its 49th year Feb. 20-22 at Winter Park Resort.
The annual event is the longest-running professional ski race in the country. It’s also the National Sports Center for the Disabled’s signature fundraiser.
The first race is the World Disabled Invitational on Thursday, Feb. 20, when international athletes — some of whom are former Paralympians — compete. The AEC Challenge also takes place Feb. 20, with architects, engineers and contractors who are sponsors compete to win the Outrigger Trophy.
During the Corporate Challenge on Friday, Feb. 21, one professional athlete from the sports center’s competition center is chosen to join a team of employees of corporate sponsors. Then, young skiers can have fun during the Kids Snowplow Sprint. That evening, attendees can don their best apres skiwear and take the gondola to Sunspot Lodge for the Snow Boot Soiree.
The event wraps up Saturday, Feb. 22, with a free ski day for athletes and other participants of the ski cup.
Each year, a group of passionate volunteers help make the ski cup possible. To sign up to volunteer and learn more about the ski cup, visit NSCD.org/events.
