Letter to the editor: No one is calling for full censorship
The recent column from the Grand County Library District about “banned” books was quite well written from the standpoint of making a case against censorship. The problem is no one is calling for censorship, in my opinion.
The issues against the books in question are providing children access to them and using tax dollars to purchase them. As the article reveals, libraries carry books that do contain explicit sexual content, and The American Library Association sees fit to highlight these titles.
All the books in question are available in multiple formats through unrestricted retail channels.
